An article by Vatican News makes Islamic theology at German universities a subject of discussion. EZIRE founding director Prof. Mathias Rohe is interviewed about the current state, achievements, and possibilities of Islamic theology in Germany.
Islamic theology in Germany builds on “a secular framework” and academic freedom in order to develop intellectually, from which a religious discourse on macro-level benefits. In particular, young academics contribute to the emergence of new theological debates on issues related to society as a whole, such as climate change.
