Bavarian Orient Colloquium Winterterm 2017/18

The Bavarian Orient Colloquium (BOK) is a joint lecture series of the universities Erlangen-Nürnberg and Bamberg. The orient-affiliated institutes of both universities in turns invite speakers from the areas of philology, religious studies, political science, history as well as theology and philosophy. The EZIRE is cooperation partner.

In the coming winterterm, the BOK will be hosted by the chair for Arabic and Semitic studies at FAU. Accordingly, linguistic topics are the main focus of this terms series. The first presentation will be given by Prof. Dr. Jan Retsö (University of Göteborg) on the topic:

 

Identifying an ancient community: who were the Pre-Islamic Arabs?

The talk start at 6.15pm in the “Senatssaal” of the Kollegienhaus (Room KH 1.011), Universitätsstraße 15, 90154 Erlangen. The public is sincerely invited.
