Hüseyin I. Çiçek, research assistant at Erlangen Centre for Islam and Law in Europe (EZIRE), received the Emerging Talents Initiative (ETI) funding of Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nürnberg. The funding serves as the basis for a successful application to an extern funding sponsor, in that case to the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft). His project “Islam and Cold War. The politicization of Islam during the 1950ies in Kemalistic-secular and Islamic-conservative media” is funded in 2017.

FAU aims to identify and promote outstanding projects and talents at an early stage. The Emerging Talents Initiative (ETI) is designed to support excellent postdoctoral researchers by providing them with an opportunity to develop scientific independence and establish themselves in their field of research.

ETI funding supports outstanding postdoctoral researchers by enabling them to apply to an external funding provider during the funding period (12 months).
