The international workshop will take place on 18th – 20th February 2015 in Erlangen.

The third workshop of the post graduate program Islamic theology with the focus on Islamic law discusses the ambivalence of Islamic normativity in the conflict area of religious claims and German law.  Based on theoretical and historical examination with the merit of Islamic normativity as a divinely set order on the hand and a constantly shaped and lived-by norm system rooted in human practice of rapprochement on the other hand, a special focus lays on normative practices of Muslim Scholars and activists in Europe.
